OUR TEAM

All members of MSP's investor relations staff have direct Wall Street experience, a key factor differentiating our service and counsel. Clients are delivered a team approach that draws on different areas of expertise and skills in providing the highest levels of service. MSP's professionals include sell-side research associates, portfolio management analysts, and investment bankers with corporate finance and M&A experience.

Our financial media personnel consists of ex-reporters and editors, as well as financial PR experts, who have consistently generated stories about our clients and management teams in leading financial publications such as The Wall Street Journal, Business Week, the San Jose Mercury News and Investor's Business Daily.

Carolyn Bass has over fifteen years experience in investor relations, investment banking and management consulting. Prior to co-founding MSP in 2000, Carolyn was a Group Director at one of the largest national IR firms, Morgen-Walke Associates (MWA), where she managed the firm's west coast technology practice. Prior to joining MWA, Carolyn was an investment banker at Genesis Merchant Group and Sutro & Co., where she worked on a variety of public equity offerings, PIPEs, private placements and financial advisory engagements. From 1989 to 1992, she was a management consultant with Ernst & Young's Management Consulting group, and Cambridge-based Analysis Group, Inc. Carolyn holds a B.S. in Mathematical Economics with an emphasis in finance from the University of California at Berkeley and received a post-graduate fellowship in business policy and strategy from the University of British Columbia.

JoAnn Horne has over eighteen years of investor relations and investment banking experience. Prior to co-founding MSP in 2000, JoAnn was Principal and Director of West Coast Operations for Morgen-Walke Associates (MWA), where she supervised the San Francisco office consisting of over 50 public and private companies. From 1994 to 1999, JoAnn was a Vice President in institutional sales at Goldman, Sachs & Co.'s in New York, covering major NY/East Coast institutional clients. During her tenure at Goldman, JoAnn worked on some of the leading technology equity deals of that period, including eBay, Yahoo, Juniper Networks, Ciena, UUNET, Deutche Telecom, and the spin-out of Lucent Technologies, among others. She also spent six years at MWA, New York prior to joining Goldman, Sachs. JoAnn has a B.A. in English and Business from Fairfield University. Recent speaking engagements include: "Mission Impossible: Surviving and Succeeding in Today's Funding Environment"; Venture One/Nasdaq "Ready, Set, Go! IPO;" and PRSA "Regaining Investor Confidence in the Current Market Environment."

Karen Haus-Moran brings over seven years of experience as an equity research analyst to MSP. Most recently, Karen was Senior Analyst and Vice President of WR Hambrecht's Equity Research Department covering business applications and services. Prior to joining WR Hambrecht, Karen was a Business Finance Manager at Oracle Corporation supporting the company's application sales efforts. She also worked in technology equity research at RBC Capital Markets covering the software industry. Karen began her career in public accounting and is a Certified Public Accountant. Karen holds a B.A. from Hofstra University and obtained her MBA from the Tuck School at Dartmouth College.

Linda joined MSP from Intel, where she was a senior financial analyst in Corporate Planning & Reporting, acting as a liaison with Intel’s Investor Relations team. Linda’s Wall Street experience spans a broad range of disciplines, including institutional sales, equity capital markets and equity research. Previously, she was an institutional salesperson at Roth Capital Partners covering West Coast clients. Linda also spent 3 years with Keefe, Bruyette & Woods’ equity research team, where she covered financial services stocks, and completed $3 billion in transactions as an associate in equity capital markets. Linda holds a B.A. in Economics from Davidson College and an MBA from the Kenan-Flagler Business School at The University of North Carolina.
